We use return data
ReturnTally reads return, order, payment, and fulfillment data to create clear return reports.
Privacy Policy
ReturnTally helps Shopify stores understand what happened to each return. This policy explains what data we use, why we use it, how we protect it, and how a store can ask us to delete it.
ReturnTally reads return, order, payment, and fulfillment data to create clear return reports.
Reports focus on return status, money movement, new items sent, and rows that still need checking.
A store can disconnect ReturnTally or ask us to delete its workspace data, subject to legal and security needs.
This policy applies to ReturnTally users, Shopify store owners, store team members, and people who contact us about the ReturnTally service.
In this policy, "store data" means data connected to a Shopify store or related return, payment, fulfillment, and reporting tools. "Personal data" means data that can identify a person.
ReturnTally is designed to use the data needed to explain what happened to returns. Depending on how a store connects and uses ReturnTally, we may process:
We use the store data needed to turn messy return information into clear status reports.
ReturnTally reports are designed to focus on order and return status, not customer contact details. If a connected Shopify account or connected tool makes customer names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses available, ReturnTally does not include those details in standard reports.
We may process limited personal data when it is necessary to operate the product, keep the service secure, provide support, investigate an issue, or follow the law.
We use data to provide and improve ReturnTally. This includes:
ReturnTally uses automated rules and matching logic to classify return outcomes. Store teams can review outputs and use them as operational reporting. If support or accuracy checks are needed, authorized ReturnTally personnel may access limited workspace data for that purpose.
We do not sell store data or personal data. We share data only when needed to operate ReturnTally or follow the law. This may include:
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These measures may include encryption, access controls, logging, least-privilege access, monitoring, and secure development practices.
No online service can promise perfect security. Store teams should also protect their own accounts, devices, passwords, and Shopify permissions.
We keep data for as long as needed to provide ReturnTally, maintain records, secure the service, resolve disputes, comply with law, and support billing or audit needs.
When data is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymize it, or keep it only in restricted backups until the backup cycle ends.
A store can request deletion of its ReturnTally workspace data by emailing hello@returntally.com. The request should include the store name, Shopify domain, and the email address of an authorized store admin.
We will verify the request before deleting data. Once verified, we delete or anonymize the requested workspace data within a reasonable period, unless we need to keep some data for legal, tax, billing, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute reasons.
If a store wants its ReturnTally data removed, it can ask us. We verify the admin request, then delete the data we are not legally required to keep.
Depending on the law that applies, users and store customers may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, or receive information about personal data. They may also have the right to withdraw consent, object to certain processing, or raise a privacy request.
To make a request, email hello@returntally.com.
ReturnTally may use cookies or similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, measure product usage, improve performance, and protect the service. We do not use this data to sell store data.
ReturnTally and its service providers may process data in countries other than where a store or user is located. When data is transferred, we use safeguards required by applicable law and work with providers that commit to protecting the data.
ReturnTally is built for businesses and store teams. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the service.
We may update this policy as ReturnTally changes or legal requirements change. If a change is important, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the product, email, or this page.
